How to define a Dynamic Range from Excel input.
A simple demonstration video of how to link live data from Excel. We use the Drag and Drop method to create a new variable. This variable will automatically be defined by the XLDATA function.
The first steps to making a model based on components using several instances of Powersim Studio, and drag and drop to use the components. In this video, you need to start a new instance of Powersim Studio. Simply hold down the Shift key while clicking the Studio icon in the Taskbar.
How to replace one of the sub models in the Oil & Gas Upstream model with a newer version from the component library, and how to re-arrange the models by removing the Cut-off model and associated models. In this new scenario, the information flow will have to go directly between the remaining models.
The video shows the Oil & Gas Upstream model that uses components. This is a rather comprehensive model will show how you can integrate long-term planning of oil and gas while taking financial aspects into consideration. You can find this demonstration model as a Sample model in the Samples section of Powersim Studio.
A Placeholder allows you to create an internal alias for a connected Excel workbook. Thus, if your workbook changes name or a date or index numbers is added to the name, you donβt need to update every reference to the workbook around the model.
This video continues the simple arrays video, and covers how to define Global Ranges and the different types of ranges in Powersim Studio:
Learn how a scalar model can be converted to an arrayed model. The Dimensions field is used to define a single numerical dimension, going from 1 to 3 using numbers like β1..3β.

DownloadThe first half of the video shows how to make a model where all variables are series variables. Then feedback is added, and you see how to take input from a non-series variable into a feedback loop made of series variables.

DownloadThis video shows how to use a time graph for user input of a time series. Except for the input variable, the model does not use series variables.

DownloadA simple introduction to units in Powersim Studio. Learn how to apply units to your variables, how to build units, combine different units and how to resolve error messages related to units.
Demonstrates how to create and connect two variables. Also covers creating a straight link, using Auto Reports and how to apply a slider control to a constant, allowing for user input for the constant.
This video demonstrates how to choose and edit calendar settings.
It covers how we perceive accuracy of having 360 days in a year, and why you normally will benefit from using the Bank calendar in your simulation.
